George got drunk in Hamburg and threw up on the floor. None of them wanted to clean it up, so they left it there and watched it get more disgusting every day. It became an inside joke and they called it a “fiendish thingy.” Thus the George famous ‘fiendish thingy’ saying.

What is this show?
Juke Box Jury! A panel of four judges (in this case, The Beatles) listen to a song and rate it either ‘hit’ or ‘miss’. John never used his ‘hit’ card.
Fun fact: Brian Epstein was a judge twice on this show. Jane Asher was a judge three times. George and Ringo appeared separately in 1964 and John had already been on the show a few months prior to all four Beatles appearing together.
Here is the radio broadcast of the time that they were all in it! I can’t seem to find the footage for it though! (I don’t think there is one since it’s radio??? I’m not sure.) It’s a little bit hard to hear, the broadcast, since it’s about 50 years old, but I did hear this: when the host, David Jacobs, announced Paul, he received the loudest applause ;)
